Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are you in my insurance network? Do you accept Medicare or Medicaid?

At this time I do not accept any insurance. I would be considered an out-of-network provider. I will collect payment at the time of your visit via Credit Card or eligible Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) that uses a debit card for transactions.

  • Can I use my Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to pay for my visits?

I urge you to verify this with your insurance plan provider. Many of my clients use their HSA or FSA to pay for their sessions. This is an excellent option for paying for treatment as FSA and HSA accounts are tax-advantaged. To learn more visit: www.irs.gov/publications/p969/ar02.html

  • Can I get reimbursed for this by my insurance company?

Maybe. I urge you to contact your insurance provider to verify your specific benefits coverage. I can provide you an invoice if you would like to attempt to get reimbursed by in your insurer.

  • I will need an itemized statement to send them for a reimbursement claim. Will you provide that?

Yes. I am happy to provide this type of statement upon your request in hard copy or electronic format.

  • What can I expect during my first appointment?

Integration therapy helps to facilitate the lasting personal, emotional, spiritual, and cognitive changes that can arise following a psychedelic experience. This integration process begins in our first appointment when we will take time to get to know one another, building a foundation for the work that we will do together. You can expect to be asked questions about your past, history with emotional and mental health experiences, your psychedelic experience(s), past relationships, family dynamics, your values and personal strengths, and other elements of your life that may be relevant for integration work. It is during this first appointment that I will also answer any questions that you have about me and about integration therapy. From there we can decide together how best to proceed.

  • How long does Integration Therapy take?

It depends. It can vary depending on the person, their expectations/intentions, their prior experiences with integration and psychedelics, and the skills/strengths they are brining into the integration process. For some people it may be one or a few sessions, for others it may help to have some ongoing support for a few weeks or months, and for some the process of integrating a particularly challenging psychedelic experience may take longer. Most often, the formal part of integration (getting started and having support to do so) takes between 3-6 sessions and the ongoing work to build these new experiences into your life may involve months or even years of work on your own, perhaps checking in from time to time for additional support when needed.

  • Is Psychedelic Integration Necessary?

Psychedelic integration is essential because it makes the insights tangible and helps to move conceptual changes into actual changes that can improve your life. Without integration, the psychedelic experience is merely a window into a potential new you. The work of becoming that potential, is where the rubber meets the road. Showing up in this new you can be scary, but also life-changing and deeply meaningful. I’m here to help.

  • What are different ways that I can integrate a psychedelic experience?

Sometimes an integration process can be a predominately physical experience. For some the changes one experiences in their body or in their own sense of their physical presence, can lead to anxiety and confusion. Beginning to integrate this into one’s day to day life can involve planning for and engaging in activities that nourish and connect awareness to the body, and several therapeutic activities we can work on together can help with this integration process.
